What is yerba mate?

the not so new south American obsession

Yerba mate is a native shrub of the South American Atlantic forest region. The first custodians of this sacred plant were the Guaraní people, who prepared it as a shared drink, used it in ceremony, and traded it with neighboring communities. In their tradition, mate was considered a gift from the gods — a plant valued for keeping the mind sharp and the body light.

Naturally rich in caffeine, flavonoids, antioxidants, and trace minerals, yerba mate is known for its steady, smooth lift. Many people experience the energy as more gradual and sustained than coffee — less spike, more glide. It’s a go-to drink when you want alertness, focus, and clean, balanced energy.

HOW we brew it

At Colibrí, the mate ritual is still alive — we just serve it in our own way. We brew with intention and attention to detail, not shortcuts. Our yerba mate comes from Argentina, sourced from one of the country’s oldest cooperatives, selected for quality and character.

Every drink is built to get the most out of the leaf — good flavor, good balance, and the natural qualities that make mate so unique.

flavor & energy above all

We don’t take shortcuts — period. Every Colibrí drink starts with small-batch brewing and hands-on preparation. We use premium yerba mate and mostly local ingredients, and we build each recipe for real flavor first — the energy comes with it. That steady, clean lift is the result of careful extraction and ingredient quality.

“The quality is outstanding, and the attention to detail is impressive. I’ll definitely BOOK THEM FOR FUTURE EVENTS.”
