The first custodians of this sacred plant were the Guaraní people, who prepared it as a shared drink, used it in ceremony, and traded it with neighboring communities. In their tradition, mate was considered a gift from the gods — a plant valued for keeping the mind sharp and the body light.
Naturally rich in caffeine, flavonoids, antioxidants, and trace minerals, yerba mate is known for its steady, smooth lift. At Colibrí, the mate ritual is still alive — we just serve it in our own way. We brew with intention and attention to detail, not shortcuts. Our yerba mate comes from Argentina, sourced from one of the country’s oldest cooperatives, selected for quality and character.
